Female entrepreneurs on Pinterest

Use Pinterest For Social Media Marketing To Build Your Tribe And Profit

By | Online Business | 4 Comments

If you haven’t gotten into Pinterest and “Pinning,” your missing one of the latest social media marketing trends. Pinterest has grown by leaps and bounds, and is referring more traffic than Linkedin, Google+ and YouTube combined.

So here are a few tips on how to use Pinterest for social media marketing to build your tribe  and profit.

Pinterest has totally gotten female entrepreneurs attention not just because of it’s marketing potential but because it’s totally fun. So move over, “America’s Got Talent.” We have Pinning to do! If fact, if you don’t pay attention, you can easily spend an hour or two on Pinterest. Which surprisingly is about what the average Pinner spends. So whenever your doing social media as a female entrepreneur, set your timer.

If you are not familiar with Pinterest, it is an online pinboard. You share on virtual or online “pinboards.” It is a visual bookmarking site that lets you share your products, services, and interests through pictures.

The big take home message for female entrepreneurs and social media marketing is, that this is a social media site. So share things that you are interested in, that connects with you, and that you love.

The addicting part is looking at what other people have pinned on their Pintrest boards. You start to follow other people with similar interests and it becomes really fun.

Pinterest is an invitation only site. You can drop me a comment below if you would like an invitation or request one directly from Pinterest. Once you are on the site you fill out a simple profile, then start pinning to your boards.

I started with some of my favorite quotes, my dream board and a few of my favorite recipes. I made a specific board I titled, “Improving Women’s Lives,” with pictures and links back to my blog posts. This is the only board that is specific to our being entrepreneurs. After a few weeks sure enough I had an increase in traffic due to my online “pinning.”

This all means more people are getting exposed to our services every day, totally free.

Pinterest is a fun social media network that takes networking for female entrepreneurs to a new level. Like all social media platforms the key is to be you, to be authentic, build relationships, and to allow your potential clients to know what you are like.

We would love to hear about your experiences on Pinterest and pinning. Drop us a comment below and let us know how Pintrest is working for you as an entrepreneur.
