Your Life Is Your Message Others Are Waiting For

Your Life Is Your Message Others Are Waiting For

By | Personal Growth | 4 Comments

Your Life Is Your Message Others Are Waiting For We all have doubters in our life, but it’s amazing that the biggest doubter can be the doubting thoughts inside our head.

Do you ever wonder how the doubter can become so strong and yet the universe and the messages we hear from it can be so hard to really trust?

We can silence the doubter and be sure that we have won, to find it has taken a different form. We are sure that what we think and feel is the truth until another layer is revealed.

The doubter inside you can steal your future!

You see the doubter that lies inside each of us likes to keep things exactly as is. It is constantly tweaking the thoughts in our head to convince us that they are reality.

But what if your life is the example others want?

What if your life is your message others are waiting for?

The doubter tells us things like,

  • “You don’t know enough.”
  • “You don’t have enough to offer.”
  • “Who do you think you are?”

What if none of this is true and there is a huge group of people all waiting for you and your message?

What if your true purpose, joy, peace, success, all live in the quite nudges that we hear and our true task is to find the courage to walk right past all the doubting voices?

My audacious claim – That is our job and the doubter in all of us will kill our dreams in a millisecond…if we let it!

Every second of every day we have the choice to choose our thoughts and beliefs. No doubting thought can steal our dream unless we choose to allow it.  Each of us has the task of keeping our dreams alive and creating our best life.

So how do we change the patterns of our thoughts and beliefs? It starts with knowing we get to choose!

But then there is another step – accepting responsibility!

We are responsible for each thought we choose to believe and the results the thoughts create.

Our power to create our life without limits lives in what we are responsible for. What we choose to be responsible for, we have the power to change.

We aren’t responsible for all the events in our life but we are responsible for what we choose to do with each event or experience.

We are responsible for the taking the challenging events and learning the lessons. We are responsible for sharing what we have learned so others can gain from our experience.

The choice is yours. Do you share your message our let it die inside you?

Loss Can Be The Catalyst That Creates Your Life

Loss Can Be The Catalyst That Creates Your Best Life

By | Personal Growth | 4 Comments

We give our experiences in life an emotional identity.

It took me time to understand that.

The events in our lives are truly neutral, it’s our thoughts that give it the powerful emotion that we connect with the experience. The event or circumstance has no meaning until we give it meaning and every event and circumstance in our life you have the power to attach positive thinking and meaning to.

I know that some of you are thinking, that’s cr*p.

Truthfully to create your best life you have to be responsible for your experiences!

Watch this video and see the power of putting time between an event and the thought or meaning you give it.

We are not always responsible for the events in our life, but we are always responsible for our view of the experience. Each experience we choose how we view it. Often we accept the thoughts that have formulated from our past experiences as fact.

I remember saying, “I can’t believe this happened to me,” over and over again after my daughter died. I didn’t understand there was a place inside mw where I got to choose my view of the experience.

When we raise our awareness of these thoughts and change them we are taking control of our life.

We move from being a victim of our past to being responsible for our life. Here is where the loss or challenging event can be the catalyst that moves us forward to create and live a life without limits!

To create your best life begin with your thoughts. Ask yourself, “How do I view my most challenging life events?”

It’s this shift in thinking that is required to take control of our lives to move past the pain, grief, guilt,  emotions that we are holding onto from our past experiences.

We would love to hear your thoughts. Leave us a comment below and as always feel free to share this post with your family and friends.

How to stop wasting your life

Are You Wasting Your Life?

By | Personal Growth | 18 Comments

How to stop wasting your lifeDo you ever feel that way?  So how to stop wasting your life?

Ask yourself these questions and if you answer “yes” to any of them you probably are wasting your life, and you need a life intervention.

1. Do you feel like you are not living up to your full potential?

2. Do you feel like there is more to your life then what you are currently living?

3. Do you feel like you are living the same year over and over again?

4. Do you feel like God has a purpose for your life but that you don’t know what it is or how to live it?

Many of us never ask ourselves these types of questions or if we do we never reach out and follow through to create the life of our vision.

Imagine during the delivery of your first-born child asking, “Is everything OK?” and not getting an answer. Seeing the look of the doctor’s face tells you that something is wrong but the room is silent.

Your child is whisked away to a corner of the room.

You ask again insisting on an answer.

You are told your child is perfectly healthy… except he has no arms or legs. No hands to hold, no fingers to use. No legs to play, jump or run.

That is how Nick Vujicic’s life started. Without limbs his parents wondered what kind of life their son would have. They asked, “What would he do in life with such a huge disability?”

Nick’s childhood was difficult, as you can imagine. He was teased and bullied.  Like all children he wanted nothing more then to fit in, to do things like skateboard, and to swim like the other kids.

Nick was overwhelmed with grief and negative thoughts about how he would always be a burden to the people he loved.

Nick will be the first to tell you it’s not easy to move past grief, and the heartache of difficult ordeals.

Today Nick has emerged on the other side of grief to be strong, determined and empowered to create the life of his dreams.

He is an amazing international speaker who focuses on teen issues. He is an author and has starred in a short film. He has created the nonprofit organization, Life Without Limbs.

He is Living A Life Without Limits!

turn your life around

How To Turn Your Life Around Is Within You

By | Personal Growth | 4 Comments

Trust The Bigger Picture. Even When It Feels Like Everything Is Going Wrong – Trust It’s Going Right!

I remember hearing advice similar to this after my daughter passed away and honestly I didn’t understand and hearing it I became angry.

It’s easy to trust the bigger picture when life is going well, but when challenges drop us to our knees it’s hard to trust and find the good in it.

Watch this video. I share some thoughts on how to turn your life around and trust in the bigger picture.

Whether it is the death of a loved one, the challenges of divorce, loss of innocence, or serious illness. Whatever it is we all have had challenges and we can choose to turn our life around. To live a life without limits.

After my daughter died I felt like I had been cheated. I complained about how life wasn’t fair. How no one understood what it was like. That she didn’t deserve to die.

You see if we choose to think about how unfair or bad our life is or has been we choose to live our life as a victim. It’s like drinking  a small dose of poison every day.

Every single moment of every single day we choose how we experience and live our lives with the thoughts we choose to believe.

If we choose to see gratitude – forgiveness – and joy we choose to live empowered.

Today I know her life was a blessing, that her life had a purpose and that her purpose was served. It’s a choice to live empowered, grateful and find the joy in each day.

How have the challenges in your life created your thoughts and beliefs? How can you change the beliefs or thoughts to be more empowered? Leave us a comment below we would love to hear from you.

Live a life without limits

Redefining Work Life Balance

By | Personal Growth, Women In Business | 5 Comments

38913984251524879_Jri11jid_cFor the last five years it’s been impossible to turn on the TV or radio without hearing about the state of the economy :: the fiscal cliff, Greece barely avoiding bankruptcy, the drop of the Euro, etc, etc, etc.

Yet there isn’t a lot of talk going on about fulfillment, engagement, purpose. If anything it’s the opposite (other than here on Live a Life Without Limits).

The main messages I hear right now are ::

“Buckle down, save, save, save.”
“Be happy with the job you have.”
“Think of your retirement.”

It’s as though most of society is saying that now is not the time for dreaming, believing, wanting more. And I get it, the economies of the world aren’t doing so well – not at all.

However, responding to these challenges with scarcity and fear only breeds more scarcity and fear. Isn’t it the time to be creative? Think outside of the box? Create some work life balance? Isn’t our conventional and traditional way of thinking what got us into this mess to begin with?

I say it’s time to declare a new way of thinking, a new way of working, of living. It’s time to put the focus back on individuals and communities; rather than relying on the government and big businesses to make everything better. I’m not letting anyone of the hook, I am merely calling for more personal involvement. A revolution of careers and work life balance.

Rather than working for the weekends, learn to love the weekdays.

“Everybody’s working for the weekends.” Isn’t that how the song goes? Seriously though, when did it become okay to merely survive 5 days out of the week just so we can enjoy the other 2 days?

Try taking back the week and finding joy regardless of what day it is. Make Mondays movie nights, Tuesdays date nights and Wednesdays spa nights. Rather than putting off all the fun for the weekend, have fun every day; hopefully then, Mondays won’t be as bad and you won’t count the hours til Friday afternoon.

Rather than putting off your dreams – make them part of your daily life.

You don’t have to quit your day job to live your dreams. Love to paint? Take an art class on the weekends. Always wanted to start a band? Start looking for a drummer today. Love to make jewelry? Spend a couple hours every week stringing beads.

Get creative with your time and focus on bringing your passions into your life.

Rather than planning for retirement – live right now.

It’s still important to save, but why be miserable now just to be happy in twenty years?

Embrace the present moment. Live each day to the fullest. I’m not saying throw away all your life savings at Vegas one weekend, but what about taking that trip to New York City you’ve always dreamt of, or the Grand Canyon, or just going out to that new restaurant you’ve heard about. Spend your money on what you value and you’ll find that you can save for the future and still enjoy today.

Rather than ignoring the part of you that wants more – honor it.

Fulfillment, happiness, adventure, excitement, satisfaction. They’re not off limits even though it might feel like that.

Wanting more doesn’t make you selfish, ungrateful, unrealistic or a bad person. My favorite quote is by Helen Keller, “Life is a daring adventure or nothing.” Don’t feel bad for wanting more out of life; instead, do something about it.

Live the life you want to live!

We’ve been programmed to think that there is only one way to make money, one way to be successful, and one way to balance work and life. Whenever someone breaks free form this mold they’re warned about the high possibility of failing. But what I see is the risk of failure everywhere – you can fail by staying in the same job for years, by ignoring your talents and passions, by putting off happiness.

Where there used to be a division, I see a unity :: Work and happiness can go together. Abundance and creativity. Planning and living. Responsibility and adventure. Balancing work and life. Stability and excitement.

You don’t have to give up one for the other, even though that’s what mainstream society wants you to think. Instead, you have the ability to create a life that makes you happy and successful – I assure you, they can go hand in hand.

How can you bring more joy, purpose and fulfillment into your life? I think you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to create your dream life if you really try.
